Rockaway Township UNICO ESSAY CONTEST

Choose one topic from the four below, type a heading that includes your name and contact information and the essay question you have chosen, then complete a 750-1000 word essay in response to the question.

1.  Use the history of your own family or of an Italian-American to discuss how immigration from Italy to the United States benefited both the individuals who came and the country they adopted.

2.  The Italian culture, from pasta to Puccini, has enriched the entire world.

3.  Imagine you are having a discussion with a new immigrant to our country who has recently entered your class. Tell your new classmate your family’s story of immigration from Italy and give him or her advice you believe will be useful.

4.  My Italian background has made me who I am today.
